Sunameke
Description: Sunameke is a unique contemporary Pacific Island dance company, based in Darwin. Since it was formed in 1997, Sunameke has performed nationally and internationally, forging a path for new forms of cross cultural dance and performance. Sunameke has been involved in the Darwin Festival, Ausdance NT, The Northern Territory Cultural Village, Tracks Dance Theatre and has been a main performer at the Palmerston Festival for the last three years.This year, Sunameke was invited to open the Australian National University’s Oceanic Connections Conference in Canberra and will present a performance and scholarly paper as a leader in the field of trans-cultural performance at ‘The World Dance Alliance Global Summit” in Brisbane in July. Sunameke is made up of members of the Pacific Island Community in Darwin and we need your support through sponsorship to represent and showcase the best of multi-cultural Darwin.
