Calling for Volunteers for the Play WATERMARK by Alana Valentine
KRA is looking for approximately 20 volunteer actors for the play 'WATERMARK' by Alana Valentine.
This play was written about the 1998 Flood. It was aired as a public reading to commemorate the 10 years of the Flood in 2008, won an AWGIE Award in 2009 and is currently being produced as a radio play for Radio National to be aired sometime in the next few months.
Recruiting and rehearsals will commence on
Wednesday 9 June at 5.30pm followed by auditions and rehearsals commencing on 16th June with Alana Valentine. Peter Lehner will assist as Director and continue auditions from 6 August. Alana will return for a week in August for the final production.
The
performance will be held at the MAIN EVENT at the Katherine Festival on
Saturday 21 August 2010 and then proceed to Darwin on Sunday 29 August for a
performance at the closing of the Darwin Festival. All travel and meals will be
paid for.
This is a free community event and attracts an audience of approx 1,500+
people. We also require volunteers for front and back stage, costumes,
developing a back drop etc etc. This is a fabulous chance to put on a great
community event, to meet new people and get the creative spirit moving.
