Elliot
Elliot is home to around 500 mostly indigenous people Mudburra and, Jingili descent. It is 770 kms south of Darwin and as some of the oldest rocks in Central Australia, some are over 1900 million years old.
Kuluminindi Arts
Kuluminindi Arts operates out of the Gurungu Womens Centre. The women artists print a range of fabric using mainly lino-cut techniques and sell the fabric in lengths as well as made up into homewares such as pillow cases, cushion covers, quilts and shoulder bags.
Stormriders
Stormriders are from Elliot in the north west Barkly Region. A rock band formed in 2003 they sing songs about lifes tials and troubles and about living as a modern Indigenous person in the 21st Century. They sing and about the history of their families working in the cattle industry and the history of the Jingili people. They have trained at the Charles Darwin University in contemporary music and many community festivals across the Top End including the Barunga Festival and the Bass in the Grass.
