The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair represents up to 30 community arts
centres from across the Top End, Katherine region, Central Desert, the
Kimberley and Queensland all in one venue, showing a vast selection of
diverse styles, each distinctive to its region of origin. Coinciding
with the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art
Awards in mid-August, the fair is only open to community based Art
Centres. Visitors to the fair will be able to discover, enjoy and buy
artworks ensuring maximum financial retuns to the communities. The fair
will also provide visitors the opportunity to meet artists and arts
workers from many remote communities. The fair is organized by
Maningrida Arts and Culture .
